Meet The Press

Founder & Editor-in-Chief

Kanika Ameerah is the founder & merry webmistress of this jolly website. After hiding out in the closet for nearly a decade (you can read the whole sad tale here), she found herself falling out of it when it became too cramped with all of her apparel & footwear. After dusting herself off, she decided to search the internet for support and to make a few friends w/people…Only to find lackluster (and often downright sleazy) resources. Ergo, Raspberry Mousse was born!

Kanika likes soul music, britcoms, travelling, fine wine & vegan cupcakes.  Despite her obsession with world dominion & peculiar (perhaps even politically incorrect) sense of humour, she's actually a nice person so don't be afraid to drop by an event and say hi @ her personal blog!

julie “shorty j” Sager is a professional archivist by day and a swing dancer, musician, and punk rock/ska kid by night. She grew up in a Maryland town too small to have its own zip code, and escaped as soon as possible, first to Baltimore and then later DC. She currently lives in Brooklyn, NYC with her partner and their dog.

Kitzie Winship is a graduate of Oberlin College, where she learned how to kiss girls and make wicked granola. A theater and cinema studies (aka “(f)unemployment”) major, she enjoys directing and performing comedy and wearing faerie wings whenever semi-appropriate. Native to Baltimore, Kitzie lives in New York City.
Nicole Doan is currently a student pursing an undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Criminal Justice, Public Administration and Sociology  & a full-time mother expecting to graduate in May of 2011.   She hopes to continue her studies in one of CUNY’s Urban Affairs or Urban Policy and Administration programs, where she can combine her multidisciplinary interest in Social Equality, Criminal Justice, HIV/AIDS Policy and Administration, and Community Activism with passion as a researcher and writer to facilitate and perpetuate policy and change in the LBGTQ, African American, and Latino communities.  Her interests outside of academia include large Polynesian tattoos, cello and drum playing in addition to play-writing.  Ms. Doan's first full-length play is The Vajazzle Monologues.
Liana Summey is an aspiring writer and political activist from northern New Jersey who boldly considers herself a creative geek with a number of odd obsessions. With a B.A. English and Anthropology from Montclair State University, Liana hopes to eventually not only publish her own written work, but inspire, develop, and promote other writers through community oriented, online publishing . As a true student of the Humanities, her greatest enthusiasm is American political life. She considers herself a left-wing progressive with strong anarchist leanings (her favorite catchphrases being “Question Authority” and “Upset the Established Order”). She is most passionate about issues regarding labor and those facing the middle class and working poor, and hopes to eventually participate in a non-profit or political action committee that works to fight for those issues. Although she is laid back and introspective, expect a run in with her snarky and sardonic sense of humor.

Pax is one of those insufferable people whose identity seems to change with the seasons. Being very female bodied she is accustomed to and uses female pronouns but is deeply delighted when someone refers to her with masculine terms.
