Meet the lovely & multi-talented Fay Wolf.   You might recognize her as the fabulously funny (and coolest BFF a girl could ever have) Veronica from the web series “A Rose By Any Other Name“, but acting is not the only thing this Connecticut native can do…she’s also quite the musician! Fay’s first EP (titled Blankets) was released last November & one of her songs, “Yours” was featured on Grey’s Anatomy earlier this year.  When she’s not acting or making music, she’s improving the lives of others by keeping things in order (as a professional organizer).

Ms. Wolf took time from her hectic schedule to fill us in on what she’s been up to lately…Read on!

RaspberryMousse.net (RM): Your first album was released six months ago & and you have another album in the works. When is the new album due out and what kind of songs will we hear on it?

Fay Wolf (FW): Ideally, there’ll be a new album out before the end of the year. There are a couple new songs I’m really in love with. Is that weird to say? Anyway, they definitely stick to the “sad piano song” motif so far, but there are more to be written. I’m hoping the way the album improves is with more involved instrumentation. We’ll see.

RM: You describe your music as “sad piano songs”. Is music your outlet for releasing sadness?

FW: Well, yes, I suppose so. I guess we all need an outlet. But I get out all kinds of weird thoughts – not all sad. Some happy stuff too, masked in a ballad.

RM: For someone who sings sad piano songs, you’ve got a bit of a humorous side! What makes you laugh?

FW: Oh, lotsa things. I’m blessed with a really funny group of friends. Even our most mundane conversations are filled with hilarious stuff. And then you gotta laugh at even the most awful things. Because the death of one thing always means the birth of another. Also, falling down is always funny.

RM: As an actress, you’ve worked in theater, television, film & most recently the internet, thanks to the web series “A Rose By Any Other Name”. Now compared to everything else you’ve done, how does acting for an online audience differ?

FW: What’s fun about making “Rose” is that doing an independent web series means we can really enjoy what we’re doing. Kyle’s in charge, not some dude in a suit who’s worried about money or keeping a certain type of audience happy. That’s not always the case on a studio set, but it has been. Us enjoying ourselves while we make the show is what it’s all about. Hopefully that enjoyment comes through to the online audience. Plus, acting for an online audience means we can tell the story we want to tell and reach lots of different groups of people. That’s really exciting.

RM: What I love most about your character, Veronica is that she was a very loyal & supportive friend to Rose as she figures out her sudden interest in men. What do you love most about playing Veronica?

FW: How often does one get to play a kind and confident lesbian who says funny stuff? It’s great.

RM: Overall, the series does a wonderful job in portraying bisexuality in ways we normally don’t see in mainstream or even alternative media. What kind of feedback have you received from viewers so far?

FW: Most of the feedback is in the form of gratitude from the bisexual community. We’re such a teeny and misunderstood group, and it’s just nice to have a respectable face, for a change.

RM: In “Rose”, Veronica is a lesbian but in real life, you identify as bisexual. Being an out woman, have you encountered much biphobia?

FW: Quite a bit. I’m encountering it less and less, hoping the out-and-proud route helps to make a change.

RM: What do you think it would take to increase the amount of bisexual visibility in television & film?

FW: Shows like “Rose…”

RM: Speaking of which, do you have any other acting projects in the works?

FW: I am producing my own web series right now. Hopefully the first episode will come out this fall. Also developing a new play with some great actors I went to college with.

RM: On top of everything else you’re doing you’re also a professional organizer, which I’ve never heard of until now! How did you get into it and what does it entail?

FW: Professional Organizing and I found each other one stormy night, in a smoky bar, and knew that we were destined for one another. Uhhh…yep. I kinda just happened to have a knack for clearing clutter and creating a flow in home & creative spaces. So I quit waiting tables and started my business. I sometimes take breaks from it, but I still love the joy of an organized home, and helping it get that way.

RM: What type of clients do you normally service?

FW: I primarily work with folks who work in the entertainment industry, who are trying to juggle unique job situations with keeping on top of never-ending stuff.

RM: Is there anything else you’d like to tell our readers about yourself?

FW: I love Reeses Peanut Butter Cups.

RM: Thank you for your time!
