Raspberry Mousse is on indefinite hiatus…Farewell & thank you for your support!

Hi all,
As most of you know, I am stepping down as editor-of-chief of RM.  Because of this, the website has been put on indefinite hiatus.
Ironically, today is our first year anniversary as well…And what a year it's been.
When I started Raspberry Mousse, I had just came out of the closet a second time — after being in it for eight years.  It was a very messy period and I was trying to make sense of it all.  Sadly, there weren't any cool websites for bisexuals to meet and befriend each …

The B-word no longer fits me -or- Why I’m joining team No Labels…

Disclaimer:  I am speaking for why I feel the b-word no longer fits me and me only. I cannot speak for anyone else.  There are many people who feel the word bisexual suits them perfectly (regardless of their path in life) and there is nothing wrong with that.
*Dusts off blog*
Hi Everyone,
Raspberry Mousse is still on hiatus.  BUT- I had to make this post because this topic has been on my mind for a while.
Earlier this week, I was killing some time via the internet & came across some interesting …

British Pop Star Jessie J: “Yes I’ve dated girls & boys. So what?”

For all the people congratulating me on 'coming out' or confirming I'm 'bi' lol-I have NEVER hid my sexuality. The press just like to grasp anything and make it gossip or an exclusive *hype* I love who I love. I will never label my sexuality. If its a boy its a boy if its a girl its a girl. #simple #whoyouare #thereisaidit

I've never denied it. Whoopie doo guys, yes, I've dated girls and I've dated boys — get over it. It's not a secret, but it's the only thing they …

The Art of Dating: The Ask A Bisexual Guy Way

Note: Anytime I refer to any group or sub group I am NOT speaking about the group just those that i have encountered unless explicitly stated.

The last blog entry I did had been bothering me. Not that I didn't like it or that anyone did anything wrong. It's just that—what are the rules of dating in bisexuality? I think about how it was for me growing up. Everything was hinged on the male being some sort of provider no matter what. He takes her out to:

Share an ice cream soda at the …

[Poem] Bisexual Liberation Movement

Because bisexuals still suffer from greater health and income disparities than the rest of the LGBT community and if we’re in a relationship with someone of the opposite sex we’re really straight and if we’re in a relationship with someone of the same sex we’re really gay and if we’re open about our bisexuality we just want attention and if we’re closeted we’re “on the down low” and if we’re female we’re always sex objects and if we’re male we don’t exist and if we’re polyamorous we can’t be faithful …

What Are We Doing About Discrimination Against Transgender People?

Last week, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and the National Center for Transgender Equality released the first comprehensive report about discrimination against people who identify as transgender. The report included both those who identify as the opposite gender from the one they were assigned at birth and those who identify as genderqueer – not identifying or expressing themselves as fully male or female.
The report, entitled “Injustice at Every Turn,” confirmed what many transgender/genderqueer Americans and their friends and family already know: Transgender people face discrimination in almost every …

The Courtesan Cooks: Tilapia and Pecan Fillets

I am a huge fan of tilapia, but encrust it in pecans, wow! Tilapia is a fresh water fish that has many names such as St. Peter's Fish or Pla Pla. Call it anything you want, it is always a good choice when it comes to selecting a fish for a dinner party or sensual dinner for two.
Pecans are the aphrodisiac of the nut family so you can’t go wrong with this recipe. Can't tell you have happy this fact made me since they are my absolute favorite. It kind …

The revolution IS being televised

By Nicole Doan
Our Egyptian brothers and sisters are crying out for freedom while our leaders and politicians straddle the political fence in hopes that the tensions will ease themselves. For the past few days, I've watched posts of various individuals that are more concerned with Mubarak’s potential replacement than the movement for freedom itself.
The people of Egypt are mad as hell and they’re not going to take it anymore! I don’t understand how we are playing political football with the freedom of people that have been taking to the streets …

Bi Power, Bi Politics

I want bisexual people to talk about being bisexual. And not just at the usual places where bisexual people gather to do such things – LGBT community organizations, nightclubs, coffee houses staffed by hippie types, their therapists’ offices. I want them to talk about it with employers, coworkers, family, friends, and professors. I want them to talk about it in classrooms, in courtrooms, in places of worship, in legislatures, in workplaces, at political rallies and meetings, at family dinners. In the words of the increasingly popular web series No More …

Social Insecurity

With all the fanfare, speculation, and anticipation surrounding President Obama’s second State of the Union this week, the most fascinating— and perhaps chilling moment for me came some time after eleven o’clock eastern on MSNBC.
Following the President’s speech, Lawrence O’Donnell, host of The Last Word interviewed Tea Party-backed Republican Congressman Joe Walsh of Illinois. While Rep. Walsh’s comments were filled with the standard reverberations of the right-wing echo chamber (cutting taxes, slashing spending, limiting the size of government, debt) what caught my attention – and disturbed me as well – …

Talking to Kids about the T(ransgender 101 for Children)

Every day, we receive an abundance of messages regarding gender; simply living in our world exposes us to diverse images and ideas about appropriate and desirable masculine and feminine identities. Gender is such a familiar part of our daily lives that it typically takes a deliberate disruption of our expectations for us to even question this very existence.
In our culture, gender construction begins at birth with the assignment of a male or female label. Babies and children are then dressed regarding to and gifted based on which box they’ve been …

Ask a Bi Guy: To fight for your right to party OR Party for your right to fight?

This isn't the original post I was going to have for everyone. I was working on a piece of how Wonder Woman can save masculinity (next time), but then I had to write about this. OK— I am getting ahead of myself. Let me start from the beginning.
A week and change ago, I was on my way to the Mid-Manhattan Library. I had my freshly charged iPod, ready to drop off some books and start my work day. Then, I stumbled upon this sticker on a newspaper stand.

Yeah….I said the …

The Courtesan Cooks: Luscious Chocolate Chip Cookies

This cookie recipe has gotten me marriage proposals! Don’t say I didn’t warn you. You can’t go wrong with this cookie which is why it is a courtesan cooks must make and bake! As I have told you, chocolate is an aphrodisiac. The Aztecs believed that all chocolate is an aphrodisiac (high five). There are elements in chocolate that stimulate to make you feel good and that alleviate pain. It’s also been said that Madame du Barry, one of my favorite courtesans, always served her lovers a cup of chocolate …
